When I first got this prompt I go had no clue how I was going to start. After a while I developed a couldy idea about what I wanted to do. I didn't even know what I was going to do when I started this blog, but it just came to me! I will go on a road trip, a fantastic road trip! The person in the passenger seat to accompany me will be Emerson, Thoreau and Whitman can sit in the back. Together we will travel across either America or Europe....havn't decided yet, just made this idea up. Throughout our journey well will visit places and my companions will quote themselves from the essays we've read.
Ummm....That's it so far. Give me any ideas or how you think I could improve this story

Yea man this is a good idea as far as the structure of it. I would recommend taking the road trip through America because it would be easier to write about and relate to. If I am correct these authors were also Americans so it would make more sence to them to travel through the U.S.A. That would be quite the road trip though, three very intellegent men very straightforward in the way they think. It will be interesting to see how this plot works out for you.
ReplyDeleteivan i think that is an awesome idea that would make a really sweet car ride. i think you should def be traveling through the U.S. like conner said. Maybe drive through the midwest like iowa and nebbraska cause its so boring but could make a good conversation with such wise crazy men. hahahahah.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not just boring places though. Maybe places that are have extreme differences. Maybe you could even go through different time periods? Don't hold back is all I can say or else it will be a bit on the boring side. Towns like, Telluride, Las Vegas, ect. Differences.
ReplyDeleteYeah man sounds like a pretty good idea, right up Emerson or thoreu's alley. Its alot like the Edward Abbey we read in that he imagines that Thoreau is going down the river with him. When writing this I would give plenty of the thoughts of the writers on the situations that you come across to the reader.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Conner in the fact that you should travel through Amercia, I think you will be able to portray it really accurately and i think in terms of hating society Emerson and Thoreu will have more to criticize and say about what American society has become, especially because they too are Americans. I think this is a really good idea that can generate a really good essay.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS IDEA. Well first off, road trips are amazing. And also they are a perfect time to talk to others and have long intricate discussions. Class just ended so that's all I'm saying.
